Term 3 Class List

 

 

 Baltimore Class

‘Piecing the Garden’ by Blackbird Designs will be this years Baltimore project.  We have a sample in blue and yellow or choose your own colours – with some (or lots!) of help from Judy.  Each student will need their own copy of the book.  We do have copies in stock!

Pin Cushions

Do you collect pin cushions or wish you had a collection?  My motto is ‘one can never have too many pin cushions’.  Come along to this fun filled class and learn how to make a few for your collection.  Designs include a teapot, cupcakes, apples and a pumpkin.

Bags ‘n’ Bags

Do you want to be a designer ‘bag lady’?  Join Sharon’s class and learn how to make a bag or two to add to your collection.  If making a bag as a gift, how about making one for yourself as well!

Christmas is Coming

Cheryl has designed heaps of new decorations to give your home that Christmas look.  There are spaces available for Terms 3 and 4. 

Optical Illusions

This term the Ginger Beer class is focused on creating optical illusions with fabric, like ‘Inner City’ a half hexagon based quilt.

8 Week Classes

Beginners Sampler Class

 Learn the basics of the addictive and satisfying craft by signing up for our Beginners Sampler Classes. 

This is taught in a 2 hour session each week for 8 weeks

 and you will need to allow the same amount of time to complete your homework.

 Cost: $120.00 plus fabrics and equipment

For the daytime classes your teacher is Therese and in the evenings it will be Sharon.

 Monday 7pm – 9pm

 Dates: 12/7, 19/7, 26/7, 2/8, 9/8, 16/8, 23/8 and 30/8

Wednesday 10am – 12noon

 Dates: 14/7, 21/7, 28/7, 4/8, 11/8, 18/8, 25/8 and 1/9

 Thursday 10am – 12noon or 7pm – 9pm

 Dates: 15/7, 22/7, 29/7, 5/8, 12/8, 19/8, 26/8 and 2/9

Anything Goes

 Is there a quilt you need help with?  Be guided by Therese on Thursdays and Jill on Fridays

 Ginger Beer Quilts – Wednesday 7pm – 9pm

 This term we are doing Optical Illusions like ’Inner City’. 

 Jill will be demonstrating quick and easy methods to make these fascinating quilts.

 Saturday

 1st Saturday 10am – 12noon ‘Baltimore Appliqué’

 After your first three classes, you can start ‘Piecing the Garden’.

 Dates: 7/8, 4/9, 2/10, 6/11 and 4/12

 Cost: $15.00 per month.  3 months to be paid in advance

 1st Saturday 1 – 3pm ‘Quilt as You Go’ – with Sharon

 Use your left over fabrics and batting to make a gorgeous quilt that is stitched and quilted at the same time.

 Dates 7/8, 4/9 and 2/10

 Cost: $45.00 plus fabrics

 2nd Saturday 9.30pm – 12noon ‘Pumpkin Gift Club’

Come along each month and make a small gift.  By December you will have a swag of handmade gifts for friends and family. 

 

 

 You will also get 20% off any purchases made on the day.

 Dates: 14/8, 11/9, 9/10, 13/11 and 11/12

 Cost: $50 Joining Fee $10 per month and 20% off any purchases made on the day.

 3rd Saturday 10am – 12noon ‘Christmas is Coming’

 Do you love Christmas and have your whole house decorated by the 1st of December. 

 Come and make some brand new projects with Cheryl for the Festive season.

Dates: 17/7, 21/8, 18/9, 16/10 & 20/11.

 Cost: $15 per month and 20% off any purchases made on the day.

Jill loves miniatures and she is addicted to Dear Jane.  She loves to work on her own quilt among like-minded souls.

Come along and share in this adventure and learn the techniques required to create these gorgeous little blocks.

Dates: 24/7, 28/8, 25/9, 23/10 and 27/11

 Cost: $15.00 per class.

 4th Saturday 1 – 3pm ‘Bags ‘n’ Bags’ with Sharon

 Sharon will teach you how to make a swag of bags to add to your collection.

If making as a gift, you might have to make two – one to keep and one to give away!

Dates: 24/7, 28/8, 25/9, 23/10 and 27/11

 Cost: $15.00 per class.

 5th Saturday 10am – 3pm  ‘Who Cares, We Do’

 There are many programs to help those less fortunate than us, in order to make difficult times a little easier to bear. 

 A quilt freely given can help ease the pain because it shows that someone cares. 

All we need are willing hands and sewing machines - we provide some fabric and instructions for the quilt we are making.  BYO Lunch

One Day Workshops

‘Machine Quilting with Evelyn’

Friday or Saturday 10am – 3pm.

 Are you a topper?  Come along and learn how to turn all those wonderful quilt tops you have created into finished quilts. 

Learn all the techniques you will need such as Cross Hatching, Free Motion Quilting and Stippling.

 Cost: $80.00 Includes a yummy lunch.
