Winter 2010 The leaves have been changing colour and falling from the trees in all their glorious autumn colours.  The weather is getting colder and it is getting dark earlier.  That means long hours stitching by the fire – bliss!  (Tasha here: Or fighting with your daughter over who can have the old quilt on the couch – the newer one is not soft enough yet!  Unfortunately, Charlotte nearly always wins – I am a sucker for her pleading!) Medallion Quilt Back in February, my friendship group talked about us all doing a quilt to motivate each other.  When nothing had happened by April, I decided to design a Medallion quilt and to make it more fun; it had to be made from my stash (how virtuous do I feel?)  As I have had the sample at the shop, some of our customers have wanted to join in the challenge too, even after being told the three rules:   1. You are not allowed to purchase any fabric for the quilt top – Use your stash! 2. You can swap fabrics with friends. 3. Show us your quilt centre to get the next border instructions - no proof – no pattern – no exceptions! Paper Piecing       Do hexagon quilts ever go out of fashion?  I don’t think so!  We are slowly increasing our range of papers from Patchwork with Busy Fingers.  We have all the hexagon sizes from 5/8” to  2 1/2", plus ‘Pies and Tarts’ and  'Paper Piecing Pack 2.  We also have some of the Mathilda’s own templates.    Country Blooms    Have you seen our lovely ads for 'Country Blooms'?  We all know how much Therese loves country styles quilts!        Fabric Ranges    Who doesnt love Moda fabrics?  The depth of colour, the versatility of the prints, the co-ordination of ranges - lovely!  We recived the following ranges - 'Looking Back', 'Stars and Coxcombs', 'Charity' and 'Butterfly Garden'.  On the Go! We have added some more bright fabrics to our stock!  Some absolutely gorgeous, funky prints that just say wow! when added to your quilt.  Including the gorgeous range of 'On the Go' which is fabulous for little boys!     Birthday Sale Our 10th birthday is fast approaching so we will be having our annual Birthday Sale and Stocktake Sale combined for the last week of June.  Keep an eye on our website the week before for details of the bargains and specials that we will be offering. Patchwork Pumpkin Shop Samples    Have you ever wanted to own a Patchwork Pumpkin class sample?  If so, you are in luck!  We are having a clear out of some of our sample quilts and are offering them for sale on our website!  (We will not be able to give you the sale discount, though.)
